The JVC TH-BC1 is a mid-cost two channel sound bar. JVC promotes the TH-BC1 as designed to compliment today's high definition displays. This sound bar offers thirty watts per channel of audio output, for sixty watts of power in total. The TH-BC1 is equipped with SRS StudioSound HD. This sound platform can convert up to 6.1 channels of audio for playback over two speakers (or a set of headphones). SRS StuidioSound HD also features a TruVolume function, which is designed to eliminate volume changes when switching sources. The TH-BC1 uses proprietary algorithms from SRS Labs to optimize bass performance. There is a pre-out on this sound bar for connecting to a subwoofer. This model differs from the higher cost TH-BC3 model in that the TH-BC3 model has an HDMI 1.4 enabled ARC (Audio Return Channel, which allows for simplified wiring since audio can travel in both directions through the HDMI cable), two HDMI inputs, one HDMI output, 3D ready video pass through, a composite video output (for watching movies on your iPod/iPhone), and a push-open iPod/iPhone dock (for streaming and charging). The JVC TH-BC1 sound bar comes with a built-in FM tuner.
