The John Deere JS26 is one of three walk-behind, steel-deck lawn mowers (JS26, JS36, JS46) released in December 2009. As the base unit, the mower features a 190cc ReadyStart, four-cycle Briggs & Stratton engineered with a 7.0 lb-ft gross torque per SAE J1940 and a zone-start recoil-rope starting system. The engine includes a carburetor designed to prevent flooding, a fuel tank cap that drips into the fuel task as the unit is operated, and a start system that requires using the extended recoil rope while holding down the operator-presence control. Also featured on the John Deere JS26 us a 22” steel deck that can be used for discharging, mulching, bagging, or mowing via the included 3-in-1 blade.
