The Intel SSD 320 Series is a solid state drive released in 2011 as a replacement and successor to the original X-25M series. As a third generation Intel SSD, the 320 Series features a new 25 nanometer NAND flash memory that offers improved performance and reliability, not to mention larger capacities. In addition, due to the 25 nanometer manufacturing process, the 320 Series SSD drives are in fact available for prices 30% cheaper than its 2nd and 1st generation predecessors. The 320 Series also upgrades from its predecessors by adding along power loss management to help ensure greater data redundancy, meaning users need not worry about losing their most important files. Note that the 320 SSDs use a SATA II interface that allows it to attain a 23,000 IOPS write on its highest capacity drives. More importantly, the sequential write speed has been doubled up to 220 MB/s, which means users can more easily multitask without experiencing lag.
