It features Intel Turbo Boost Technology with a max turbo frequency of 3.7 GHz, an unlocked multiplier, a max TDP of 95 W and 32nm architecture. Additionally, the i5-2500k sports on-die Intel 3000 HD graphics and thermal monitoring technologies.

The i5-2500K's Turbo Boost Technology automatically overclocks its core clock frequency up to 3.7 GHz as needed in order to minimize slowdown while under heavy stress. Its unlocked multiplier allows the i5-2500K to be overclocked manually by the user to theoretically limitless levels as long as adequate cooling is provided. Meanwhile, the i5-2500K's integrated Intel 3000 HD graphics provide out-of-the-box support for high definition and 3D media when used in conjunction with motherboards able to utilize this feature.
