The Intel Core 2 Duo P9600 is a high-end dual-core microprocessor based on 45nm technology and intended for notebook use, and it is one step up from the slightly older P9500, due to its improved processing speed. It has a clock speed of 2.66GHz and front side bus speed of 1066MHz, a slim form factor and thermal design power of 25W.  It has 6MB of shared L2 cache, which reduces transfer time spent busing information between cores. The P9500 is also capable of 64-bit processing. It has Intel's HD Boost technology which allows the processor to keep up with high-definition video or video editing, or other HD applications. It is also supposed to make more efficient use of power to prolong laptop battery life. This processor's package type is micro-FCPGA.
