Edit

The Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 is a higher-end dual-core microprocessor based on 45nm technology and intended for notebook use, as it has a slim form factor and 25W thermal design power. It is supposed to allow a high number of programs to run simultaneously without sacrificing performance quality. It has identical features and technology to the P8400 except for an improved clock speed. It processes at 2.4 GHz and has a front-side bus speed of 1066MHz, and can perform 64-bit processing. Its L2 cache memory is 3MB, and this is shared between the processor's two cores to reduce time exchanging information between the two. It has Intel's HD Boost technology which allows the processor to keep up with high-definition video or video editing, or other HD applications. It is also supposed to make more efficient use of power to prolong laptop battery life and of system memory bandwidth.
