@kym. That's pretty funny. I didn't think of that possibility at first. However, two problems: 1) can you send high quality color photos through fax? 2) you really need a dedicated phone line for a fax machine.

It only works in the US which is pathetic. It's called a FAX. Buy your parents a phone/FAX and subscribe to a email-to-fax service. Much cheaper and it is global.

I totally agree, I think this will be really useful for the tech-challenged. I just wonder if people will be trying to answer the email back somehow through this device. I'm picturing a lot of yelling into the machine.

I'm in love with the idea of this printer. I think my grandparents would absolutely love it. Fresh printed emails without the hassle of computers. You'd have to set it up for them of course!
