The ProBook 6450b replaces the 6440b in HP's small business line. It inherits similar styling to the high-end EliteBook line but it lacks the magnesium alloy chassis and anodised aluminum lid. The 6450b is largely the same as the 6440b with the dimensions and weight unchanged; the only physical differences is the replacement of a USB2.0 port by a eSATA/USB combo port. Less obvious changes includes more choices of processors such as the cheaper Intel Core i3 and budget Celeron processors for buyers with basic computing needs. What is also interesting to see is the more expensive Core i7 quad core option which will push the 6450b into the Elitebook price range. The number of operating system options has also been increased with new options such as Red Flag Linux and Vista Home Basic (both can be considered as budget options). Overall, with these new low-end options, the 6450b makes for a more flexible solution for corporate and small businesses or even students and home users looking for business class build quality.
