The HP EliteBook 8740w is a high-powered workstation released in April 2010. On the outside it hosts a 7.8lbs magnesium-alloy chassis, a 17” led-backlit display, a spill-resistant keyboard, and a touchpad with gesture support. On the inside, the 8740w is powered by an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, up to 16GB of DDR3 SDRAM, either a SATA or solid-state drive, and a 1GB graphics card (ATI/Nvidia). Users willing to pay extra can also get hold of access to nationwide 3G broadband connectivity, a Blu-ray/DVD optical drive, and a quad-core Core i7 processor. The plethora of features is optimal for users seeking to watch high-resolution videos, play 3D games, engage in serious business multi-tasking, or stay connected anywhere and at anytime. Plus the 8740w supports the USB 3.0 standard.
