The HP 9000 rp7440 is an affordable server offered by HP that offeres high-availability 64-bit computing. This mid-range workhourse has attractive price/performance, rack density, flexibility and scalability and features a PA-8900 processor with the HP Super-Scalable Processor Chipset sx2000.  This chipset delivers decreased latencies and increased bandwidth. It can support up to four 16-processor core servers per rack and uses HP PA-RISC dual-core technology, flexible partitioning, innovative virtualization technologies, and improved PCI-X I/O capabilities. This server runs the HP-UX 11i operating system and has a Virtual Server Environment (VSE) which includes hard partitions (nPars), virtual partitions (vPars), high availability (Serviceguard), capacity on demand, and HP Workload Manager (WLM) capabilities to help manage resources to their maximum potential. There are also several optional high availability and business continuity solutions available for increased security and other features.
