Boggle is a classic word-style board game from Parker Brothers, a division of the Hasbro company. Featuring a grid (usually 4x4) of randomized lettered dice, the objective of the game is to derive as many words as possible from adjacent letters in a set time frame (usually 3 minutes). Suitable letters can be beside, above, beneath or diagonally spaced from a starting letter. Point values from 1 to 11 are available depending on how many letters are used in a given word, and the validity of words can be confirmed via the Official Scrabble Players Dictionary. Multiples of common consonants and vowels are included, with each die face featuring a single character except for the "Qu" block. Boggle is most similarly related to Scrabble, and is affiliated with the National Scrabble Association, and features international tournament play as well as multiple clubs based out of colleges in the United States. While there have been many different versions of the game released including 4x4 and 5x5 grids, junior and travel-sized editions, software and internet-based games and more, the most current release of Boggle utilizes a smaller self-contained design that prevents the loss of dice. This edition, sometimes referred to as Boggle Reinvention, also features a color-changing timer and claims to be much quieter than earlier versions.
