Frequently Asked Questions
Why not just cook your egg in a small frying pan and assemble the sandwich yourself, and have less to clean? What is so special about this product?
Because you can set this up in the machine and walk away from it. You can leave the kitchen for 4 1/2 minutes, go back upstairs and finish getting ready, or take your dog out. If you were making an egg in a pan you would never walk away from it. Plus, you have to clean the pan. Now, you just wipe down this sandwich maker with a paper towel when you are done with it and that's all the clean up it needs.
Does it cook whatever meat is added?
It does NOT cook any meats. I use pre-cooked bacon or luncheon meats. It will makes the meat nice and hot, but it will not cook it. You may need fry up a batch of bacon and keep it in a sealed zip-lock bag in the fridge to use for the sandwiches.
Can you cook JUST an egg and the bottom 1/2 of a bagel? I don't eat much in the morning, but it's less of a hassle to have a machine.
Well... sure you can. Put the bottom half of the bagel in the bottom compartment, cook the egg in the egg compartment (be sure to break the yolk), and after five minutes you'll have a nice, round cooked egg that will drop to the waiting bagel bottom when you slide the egg compartment floor open. Not quite a breakfast sandwich, but it'll work if that's what you want!
