Brewing Options

You can use the "single-serve side" to brew into a standard-size cup or brew up to a 14 oz. travel mug. On mornings when you want to enjoy cup after cup, or when you’re entertaining, the “carafe side” makes a full 12-cup pot.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I find the coffee to be too weak and it smells funny, also coffee grounds in the bottom of my cup. This is only on the single serve. How do I fix this?

When you put the kcup in you need to make sure the holder for it is completely flat. That should help with the coffee grounds. For the smell, I would run some white vinegar through it and that should hopefully take care of it. The weakness depends on how much water you put in. I know you probably know all of this but this is all I know.

  • Why it didnt come with the stainless steel travel mug?

I did not receive the travel mug also. Didn't know it was supposed to be part of the package. My coffeemaker didn't work right, so it was returned.

  • Does this product accept k cups or not?

Hamilton Beach came out with a new version in October which DOES do K-cups. The prior version did not do them. If the travel mug is on the RIGHT side as you are looking at the coffee maker, that version DOES the K-cups. If the travel mug is on the LEFT side of the coffee maker as you are looking at the brewer, it does NOT do K-cups.
