Edit

Google Music is an online cloud music streaming service. It was invitation only but on November 16th 2011 it was made open to the public, and is currently only available to US users. Google provides a 20,000 song capacity for all beta testers; this differs from its competition such as amazon cloudplayer which provides a capacity limit based on file size (5GB for free). Users can upload their own music to this online service via a software provided by Google. The content can be played back either from your web browser or from an Android device running version 2.2 or later. On an Android device, the content can either be streamed or cached (saved) on the tablet/phone; this enables off-line listening for users. The Music service supports a few major file formats: MP3, AAC, WMA, and FLAC. Which isn't a wide selection by any means, but this service is still in its development stage and many changes are likely to occur before it is made available worldwide.
