Google App Engine is a platform for building and hosting Web applications on Google's infrastructure. The service was launched in beta in April 2008, and offers users access to free acounts with certain technical limits on the apps they build: 500 GB persistent storage, and enough CPU for approximately 5 million pageviews per month. Google App Engine is designed to automatically scale computing resources to meet the demand of your Web application, however, in its preview release errors will occur if your load exceeds your quota.
