The Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R is a mid-range X58 motherboard, initially released in early 2010. This product is virtually identical to Gigabyte’s higher-end GA-X58A-UD5, the main differences being dual Gigabit Ethernet connections and a larger heat pipe. This Intel Core i7-compatible motherboard is available in two versions: rev 1.0 and rev 2.0. The second version of the UD3R adds support for On/Off Charge mode, which allows plugged-in devices such as an iPhone to charge up to 3 times faster. Gamers will likely be interested in 2-way/3-way CrossFireX and SLI options, which includes 2 PCI Express slots running in x16 mode. Additionally, 2 PCI-E slots can be run in x8 mode. Other notable features include dual SATA 6Gb/s hard drive connectors and 2 USB 3.0 ports on the back panel.
