The Gigabyte GA-EG41M-US2H is a budget-friendly, micro-ATX, multimedia-ready motherboard that supports Intel 45nm CPUs (Core 2, Pentium, Celeron), versatile connectivity options (HDMI, DVI, HDCP), and DirectX 10.0 via an integrated Intel X4500 graphics accelerator. It builds slightly from the GA-EG41M-S2H by trading in one of three PCI slots for a PCI Express x1 instead. Unfortunately it inherits a bevy of problems, including no built-in H.264 or VC-1 decode acceleration, MPEG2 decoding troubles with DVD, and only two DIMM slots, which means maximizing memory requires two expensive 4GB DIMMs. There’s also no SATA or FireWire support, and Windows 7 compatibility is shady at best.
