The Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5 is a mid-range ATX motherboard released in mid-2010. This board is a step-down from Gigabyte’s GA-890FXA-UD7, as it lacks the additional PCI Express slots to enable 4-way CrossFireX support. However, the UD5 comes with 2 PCI Express 2.0 slots running at full x16 mode, plus an additional lane running at x8 mode for 3-way multi-GPU support. A single x4 slot is built-in for accessory expansion cards. Other features include 4 DDR3 DIMM slots with a maximum capacity of 16GB, 6 SATA 6GB/s hard drive connectors and 2 USB 3.0 ports on the rear panel. In terms of audio, this motherboard is Dolby Home Theater certified with full 7.1 surround sound support. A variety of overclocking and system tools are included in the box.
