Edit

The Gibson J-185 is a Gibson Jumbo acoustic guitar first introduced in 1951 to offer a broader choice of flat-top guitars. With a smaller body than Gibson’s Super Jumbo units, the J-185 provides a more compact solution that doesn’t sacrifice on power and projection. Its exact specifications are 20-1/4” (length) by 16” (width) by 4-7/8” (depth). Included are parallelogram inlays on the fretboard, a ‘50s-style pickguard, and a 4-play top binding. Signature to the guitar are its original Rotomatic tuners with a gear ratio of 14:1; they allow for precision tuning and are thoroughly protected by the housing. The entire unit is coated in an upscale nitrocellulose finish, giving the impression of quality and tradition.
