The Gibson Hummingbird True Vintage is a mid-grade acoustic guitar that is designed to imitate the original 1960 Hummingbird model meaning Gibson meant the True Vintage to look and sound the same. The Hummingbird True Vintage has Gotoh's green button, Kluson-style gold tuners with a gear ratio of 15:1. The rosewood fingerboard features traditional binding over the fret ends and split parallelogram mother of pearl inlays.
The Hummingbird True Vintage acoustic guitar features a square-shoulder dreadnought body design and has a body top constructed of AAA-grade sitka spruce wood finish while the back and sides consist of mahogany. The rosette on the Hummingbird True Vintage is a double-ring with the main ring consisting of a seven-ply binding and a second ring made up of three-ply binding. Gibson claims that every on of its acoustic guitars has a "hand-scalloped and radiused bracing inside the body". The Hummingbird True Vintage features a single "X" traditional pattern that Gibson states "delivers a balanced mid-range warm tone".
