The GE GTWN4250MWS is a 27-inch tall top-loading washer released as a successor to GTWN3000MWS and GTWN4000MWS. It adds along an enhanced motor that allows it to reach spin speeds up to 700rpm (versus 630rpm). In addition, the GTWN4250MWS washer supports more wash/rise cycles (5), and it offers a PreciseFill system that automatically measures the load size and then adds the appropriate amount of water. Like its immediate predecessor, the GTWN4000MWS, the GE GTWN4250MWS washer is more economical courtesy of integrated systems that reduce electricity and water consumption. Plus it caters to both white and black clothes, it uses an advanced suspension system to avoid spinning out of control, and it uses a durable steel basket.

Worst washng machine I've ever had. The "high efficiency" feature prevents the machne from filling with enough water to cover the clothes, no matter how large or small the load...even with the dial set at LARGE load. The manual (page 4) says "You may notice that the water level is lower than on your previous washer. This is normal." It is NOT normal to have even the smallest load of clothes bunched up in a lump barely covered by water. Manual (page 8) Troubleshooting...before you call for service..."Water may not cover the top level of the chothes. This is normal for this high-efficiency washer. There is no "high efficiency" for this machine because they offer TWO rinse cycles (obviously to get all the soap out of the bunched up clothes), and I spend the first 5 minutes of every wash cycle adding buckets of water in order to cover the clothes. At least I have a utility sink next to the washing machine. I feel sorry for those who don't. I honestly HATE this machine, and there is absolutely NO energy savings when you add water and rinse everything twice!

At least every third load it becomes so unbalanced that it stars walking across the floor, no mater how careful you load it. This washer is JUNK. It was professionally installed (leveled and shipping rod removed). My wife has to babysit every load. It become so violent it moves a 80 gallon water heater.

model GTWN4250D0WS - Great machine up to the spin cycle. Sounds like thunder from outside, had it repaired and the next load it becomes unbalanced and shakes violently. They use a brick to keep it balanced per the repair part that was delivered, don't understand that, but I just want a top load, old fashion washing machine.
