A lot of data such as speed can't be viewed unless your boat is in the middle of the display, limiting your field of view.

Limited overlays--can't overlay radar and AIS simultaneously.

Much heavier than many alternative GPS units at nearly 8 lbs.

The Garmin GPSMAP 4010 is the middle offering in this line of marine GPS units. With a 10.4 inch SVGA resolution display, this model comes in the middle of the 8.4 inch VGA 4008 model and the 12.1 inch XGA 4012 model. The entire line of GPS units is equipped with a pair of video inputs, which allow you to connect cameras to the unit and keep an eye on other parts of your boat. Another feature shared throughout the line is connectivity to the Garmin Marine Network, which allows you to connect the unit to other GPS units and share information. There is a satellite basemap built into this entire line of GPS units, and the optional BlueChart g2 Vision SD card allows you to view regional cartography in greater detail.
