Fickle transducer connection--must be put in firmly all the way or the unit gets stuck in demo mode.

Black and white display makes it somewhat hard to differentiate between elements being displayed, especially in direct sunlight.

The Garmin echo 200 is a low-cost freshwater fishfinder with a greyscale display. This is an expansion of the Garmin echo 150, with a more powerful 300-watt (RMS) sonar that reads to a depth of 1,500 feet. The screen has been enlarged as well to 5 inches at a 480 x 320 resolution, and new advanced features such as the Adjustable depth line and the A-scope provide more information about what can be found underwater. They both have Garmin’s HD-ID target tracking technology, which improves image clarity. The dual-beam system is capable of tracking in both deep and shallow water, and Garmin Smooth Scaling technology ensures that targets are tracked through depth changes. This unit includes a quick-release tilt mount that enables easy removal of the device at the end of the day, and a transom-mount transducer is also included for quick installation.
