The Garmin Dakota 20 is an entry-level handheld GPS navigation device. Built for rugged outdoor navigation rather than vehicular use, the Dakota 20 features a sunlight-readable, 2.6" touchscreen display. A global basemap is built in, and additional maps can be added via MicroSD. The device's HotFix satellite prediction technology offers faster, more precise positioning. To the Dakota 10, the Dakota 20 adds a 3-axis electronic compass and a barometric altimeter, useful in mountainous terrain. The Dakota 20 also includes a geocaching database, with downloadable locations, descriptions, and hints.
