It features Garmin's Guidance 2.0 system, free lifetime traffic and map updates, photoReal junction view, and dual-orientation functionality. Additionally, the nuvi 2555LMT sports an emergency "Where am I?" function and a microSD card slot for loading up additional maps.

The nuvi 2555LMT's Garmin Guidance 2.0 system features a simplified user interface, 8 million preloaded points of interest and turn-by-turn voice navigation designed to help users find their destinations more easily. Its photoReal junction view allows the nuvi 2555LMT to display unfamiliar intersections in realistic detail with complete with road signs and arrows which indicate the proper lane to take. I like the portrait mode for this device. I realized that its probably a better orientation for a GPS device since it shows you more of what`s ahead of you, rather than what`s beside you.
