The Fujifilm X30 is a stylish, premium compact camera with class-leading functionality, superb design, enhanced battery performance and unrivaled image quality. This large-sensor premium compact has evolved from the best-selling X20 camera. In addition to its high quality 2/3-inch X-TransTM CMOS II sensor, the X30 features an impressive real-time viewfinder, EXR Processor II and a new control ring along with extra dials and function buttons for more control. Tilting 3.0-inch 920K-dot LCD monitor, improved battery performance (approximately 470 photos /charge), remote WiFi shooting from your smartphone and a variety of manual functions make shooting with the X30 a true pleasure.
The FUJIFILM X30's 2.36 million dot OLED viewfinder provides seamless view that you'll quickly forget it's not a traditional optical viewfinder. Making its wide, clear and bright perspective possible is a special high-precision four-element lens and, compared to the FUJIFILM X20 with its optical viewfinder, magnification has increased to 0.65x for complete, 100% coverage, letting you compose with confidence.

2/3-inch 12MP X-Trans CMOS II Sensor -- Focused on bringing you the ultimate image quality
Featuring Fujifilm's bespoke pixel array, the FUJIFILM X30 captures high quality images with its large 2/3-inch X-Trans CMOS II sensor. And you'll be able to enjoy high-speed continuous photography and Full HD movie shooting thanks to the high performance CMOS element of the sensor.
OLPF-free architecture and X-Trans CMOS II sensor processing capture your world with crystal clarity
The FUJIFILM X30’s 2/3-inch X-Trans CMOS II sensor inherits the same architecture and features of the high performance sensor found in the acclaimed FUJIFILM X-T1. Adoption of BSI (backside illumination) technology allows the successful incorporation of phase detection pixels into the array without affecting sensitivity performance -- the key to the X30's high-speed AF.X-Trans CMOS II adopts an original color filter array with a highly random pattern, eliminating the need for an optical low-pass filter (OLPF), which is used in conventional systems to inhibit moiré at the expense of resolution. This lets the sensor directly capture the high resolution performance of the FUJIFILM X30 lens. Also making the most of the enhanced performance of the EXR Processor II, Lens Modulation Optimizer (LMO) factors are calculated to compensate for aberrations and diffraction blur that occur when light passes through the lens, and are then applied to produce images with amazing sharpness.
The blazing image processing performance of the EXR Processor II produces images with increased resolution and higher quality at higher speeds, and accelerates operational response. This LSI improvement speeds up operation, reducing start-up time to only approx. 0.5 seconds**. Working in tandem with the high-speed signal readout of the X-Trans CMOS II sensor, the processor reduces the shooting interval to 0.3 seconds, cuts shutter lag time to approx. 0.01 seconds, and raises the maximum continuous shooting speed to 12fps.
The Fujinon lens features superb F2.0-2.8 brightness and a 4x optical zoom that assures high-resolution optical performance across the entire range from 28 mm wide angle to 112 mm telephoto. From the aspheric and ED lenses to high-refractive index lens, every element in the design is made from high-performance optical glass and treated with a multi-layer HT-EBC (High Transmittance Electron Beam Coating) for high resistance to ghosting and lens flare.
With a display lag time of just 0.005 seconds, the FUJIFILM X30's real-time viewfinder is almost indistinguishable from an optical viewfinder. This means you can concentrate on the scene, distraction free, and follow moving subjects with ease. The Graphic User Interface in the viewfinder can be positioned outside of the display for the clearest possible view and the image rotates smoothly to a vertical or horizontal shooting position. It all adds up to the best possible view.
The combination of the processing speed of the EXR Processor II and fast readout speed of the X-Trans CMOS II sensor allows high-speed 12fps continuous shooting at full 12-Megapixel resolution. This is particularly valuable when shooting moving subjects and later selecting the best shot.
Thanks to the new control ring, which automatically determines the most appropriate settings for the chosen shooting mode, functions like aperture, shutter speed and more can be quickly chosen without taking your eye from the viewfinder. This is complemented by the manual zoom ring, and physical dials which have become a hallmark of the X series.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a good low light camera? Will this camera focus and take good indoor pictures for parties and other group settings.
Yes it works quite well in low light. You can set the ISO if you like but it works pretty in auto mode. Also has a builtin flash that's good for indoors.
