Excalibur's 9-tray Economy Dehydrator is a food-preparation product aimed aimed at those who want to preserve certain foods for later use. This device operates by loading the trays with foods to be dehydrated (fruits, meats or herbs, for example), setting a desired temperature, and then evaporating the water out of them.  This product provides 15 square feet of drying space, which is more than many of the company's other models. It is thus targeted at large families or those with large gardens or supplies of food to dehydrate. Includes flexible polyscreen tray inserts to prevent foods from sticking to trays, 7 inch fan, built-in on/off switch, and adjustable thermostat.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can anyone please tell me what the difference is between this "9 tray economy dehydrator" and the regular 9 tray version? Thanks.

I believe the other one has a timer. I have both and I like the one without the timer better. It seems to run quieter. I've had it for years and it is great.

  • How much power does this consume?

The 9 tray uses 440 watts.
