The EVGA GeForce GTX 480 SuperClocked is a high-end graphics card released in March, 2010. This card is marginally faster than the standard GeForce GTX 480, and is designed to compete with ATI’s Radeon HD 5870. The GTX 480 SuperClocked features DirectX 11, PhysX and Nvidia 3D Vision Surround technologies. This card is compatible with 2, 3, and 4-way SLI configurations, allowing for a wide range of options when it comes to potential computing power. The SuperClocked edition’s core clock runs at 726MHz, while the memory clock runs at 3800 MHz and the shader clock runs at 1451 MHz. Expert reviewers indicate the standard GTX 480 is already faster than the competition’s HD 5870, therefore the SuperClocked edition is unlikely to provide gamers with any significant performance advantage. Video output includes two Dual-Link DVI-I ports and one Mini-HDMI 1.3a connection. Included software includes EVGA’s Precision and OC Scanner tool, which allows users to fine tune and customize their gaming experience.
