Edit

The Eclipse AVN5510 is a DVD-Video A/V head unit featuring a 7”-wide TFT display with four different aspect ratios. It handles DVD video/audio, as well as CDs with MP3 or WMA audio files. Most unique about the device is its built-in navigation system — compatible phone data service required — with approximately 8.55 million POIs, map scaling from 150ft to 250mi, and voice guidance in multiple languages (English/French/Spanish). What really sets this unit apart, however, is its wide-array of expansion options: iPod, HD Radio, Sirius Satellite Radio, CD-Changer, Rear View Camera, TV-Tuner, Bluetooth etc. Overall, it’s a relatively weak model compared to the AVN4430. Its one advantage is Circle Surround II tech, which can generate multi-channel sound from any audio source—suitable for a 4-speaker system.
