The Generic bracket is an inexpensive way of mounting your speedlight (battery powered flash packs) from Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Olympus etc for flash style work to a flash stand or tripod. The bracket has screw fittings for the flash mount, umbrella and tripod/stand mount.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will this work with a Nikon SB910 flash?
Yes, but if you value the $500 bucks you payed for that SB-910, don't risk it by clamping it to this and watching as it sends it crashing to the floor on a shoot. The clamp is aluminum but it is built in such a way that it allows the hot shoe to slide and no matter how tight you turn the knob, so when you tilt the umbrella it drops your expensive Nikon speedlight.
Can I attach a umbrella to this bracket?
Yes, sizes up to and including 42" .
Will this work with a Canon 600 speedlight?
Technically yes but it is not the safest way to do it. This unit tends to losen up.
