The Denon DBP-1610 is an entry-level Blu-ray Disc player released in May, 2009. This player is intended as a device for value-conscious consumers, especially when compared to Denon’s flagship $4,500 DVD-A1UDCI. The DBP-1610 includes essential features also found in their higher-end models, such as HDMI Source Direct and 12-bit video processing in order to achieve high-quality results. As for standard DVDs, the included i/p upconverter reduces artifacts with digital video noise reduction. In terms of audio, the DBP-1610 supports digital multi-channel audio as well as Burr-Brown stereo analog output. Unlike Denon’s DBP-2010CI, this player does not feature onboard analog audio and must be connected to a compatible receiver for surround sound decoding. The Denon DBP-1610 features Profile 2.0 compatibility with BD-Live content support as well, which can be accessed via the built-in Ethernet port.
