Sold-separately iPod dock is pretty pricey.

Tends to distort when played at higher volume levels.

Remote control is overly complicated with 45 buttons in total.

Bass sounds a bit loose, lacking especially considering the price point.

Edit

Denon D-M33S is a mini-system much like the D-M73, offering manufacturer’s premium features. Starting with a variety of playback capabilities, from CD-R/RW discs to MP3 and WMA, the built-in CD player runs Burr-Brown audiophile D/A converters. The newly developed drive unit for the 2-way 2 speakers uses inverted-profile double layer cones, and this produces a more stable sound. With 40 FM/AM presets, the D-M33 is a well endowed radio tuner, with Radio TEXT and RDS functions. Notably however, the D-M33 although more expensive than the D-M37, does not come equipped with a USB connection.

Features
  • Newly tuned SC-M53 speaker system
  • CD-R/RW, MP3 and WMA playback
  • RDS and Radio TEXT
  • MONO Output for Subwoofer
  • Supoer Dynamic Bass
