no way to adjust the height of the screen apart from stacking books underneath

The Dell IN1910N is a lower-end 18.5" monitor, intended to pair with Dell's entry-level Inspiron desktop line. The widescreen monitor features a maximum resolution of 1366 x 768, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, and a response time of 5 ms. The IN1910N lacks the DVI connection and more advanced eco-friendly features of higher-end displays. It is compatible with Dell's SoundBar speaker system, which can be attached to the bottom of the monitor. A 20" model, the IN2010N, is also available.
