The Dell Latitude XFR is their first fully ruggedized notebook that was designed for reliable performance in extreme environments. It meets the strict military standard,MIL-STD 810F, for extreme temperatures, shock/drop, moisture, altitude, and more. Designed with a solid die cast magnesium alloy chassis, the XFR does not give up any performance. Reviewers report that it has high performance with the Intel Core 2 DUO processors capable of running the most demanding applications which are protected by a patent-pending thermal management system. The 14.1 in. LCD monitor is outdoor viewable and anti-glare. The biggest drawback to this notebook is its weight of 9 lbs. Many say it has plenty of speed even with it's rugged design that also includes a sealed keyboard capable of withstanding the elements. Built for uncompromising performance in the most extreme environments, Dell's Latitude XFR delivers to the toughest standards.
