I am presently on my 2nd defective SuperCube I. I have an all DT system and think they make excellent products, but have had nothing but problems from this Sub. The first one came out of the box with a broken high-pass crossover. While not a critical deal, as it sounds great using the LFE in, I am one of those people who will not pay $1200 for something and know from the start it is not in mint condition. The folks at Myer-Emco were nice enough to let me exchange it and *again* it has a broken high-pass crossover, this time both channels are bad, whereas the first 1 was just the left channel.
I have a DT ProSub 1000 and have used it for comparison and it sounds great, so I know it is not my receiver, not the speaker wire or plugs, and not the speakers. The problem is clearly in the high-level inputs or outputs on the SuperCube.
This is a bulky, heavy speaker and it is a real pain to return to the store. I got the last one in the local shop, so now in order to exchange I have to have them order another from their warehouse and wait. That is really inconvenient, especially multiple times.
I live in MD about 1 hour from Owings Mills and I am tempted to drive this speaker to DT's headquarters and have them play it and see.
I would like to advice this product to people, but have a feeling there is a bad batch going around- maybe try to find an old one or wait a few months and see if whatever assembly problem they have is corrected
