The D-Link DWA-160 is an Xtreme N Dual Band USB Adapter designed for users seeking a reliable wireless connection that can handle High-Definition (HD) video streams throughout an entire home. The dual band N technology in the DWA-160 supports selectable 2.4GHz or 5GHz wireless signals, making it highly compatible with a draft 802.11n dual band router (D-Link DIR-855 or DGL-4500). Keep in mind though that the DWA-160 is backward compatible with 802.11g, which basically means that it can be implemented in a traditional G or B network as well. Although, do realize that if utilized with an N network, one can expect 14x faster speeds and 6x farther range. Additional features of the D-Link DWA-160 wireless USB adapter include WPA/WPA2 encryption, Internet phone calling with VoIP, and D-Link Quick Adapter Setup Wizard. The D-Link DWA-160 retails for $89.99 and comes with a 1 year limited warranty.
