The D-Link DGS-1008G is an 8-port, 10/100/1000 Gigabit switch featuring the Energy Star 5.0 and RoHS qualifications. As an upgrade from the standard Ethernet DES-1008E switch, the D-Link DGS-1008G provides much faster connectivity coupled with an abundance of environmentally friendly features, including CEC/MEPS regulation standards, auto port power-downs during no link activity, and the ability to adjust power usage according to the connected cable lengths. Plus it incorporates Jumbo Frame, QoS prioritization, and full-duplex support, as well as MAC Address Learning and auto MDI-MDI-X crossover. Unfortunately it sacrifices its predecessor’s capacity for the Power-of-Ethernet protocol.
