The D-Link DIR-451 is a wireless router shares a connection with a 3G cellphone network to multiple Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections. This is the same as the D-Link DIR-450, but UMTS and HSDPA networks rather than 1xEV-DO 3G. This means that it will connect to networks such as Cingular. High-speed Wi-Fi is available through the 802.11b/g standards, and there are 4 standard Ethernet ports for wired connections. Standard wireless encryption is available through 64 or 128 bit WEP, WPA or WPA2 protocols, and a firewall is built in that uses NAT and SPI. A VPN pass-through is also included for special circumstances that require a virtual private network.
