The D-Link DIR-450 is a wireless router that connects to 3G cellphone networks and allows multiple Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections. This is the same as the D-Link DIR-451, but it uses the 1xEV-DO 3G standard instead of the UMTS or HSDPA. This means that it will connect to networks such as Sprint or Verizon Wireless. Normal high-speed wireless network connections are available on any Wi-Fi device that uses the 802.11b/g standards. Security is handled through standard encryption protocols such as 64 or 128 bit WEP, WPA or WPA2. A firewall is also built in that uses NAT and SPI to block outside traffic, and uses a VPN pass-through for times when a virtual private network is required.
