Ink cartridges are small and expensive compared to other Canon/competitor's printers in this range

2 agree

Very limited aftermarket ink compatibility, essentially stuck with expensive Canon brand

Drains ink far too quickly to be practical to use for simply black and white text printing

Edit

The Canon PIXMA iP6220D is a basic color inkjet printer meant to be a photo printer, and it includes a 2.5" LCD display on top of the unit, which can then select photos to print. It is essentially the same as the PIXMA iP6210D, upgraded to include the screen and memory slot. It automatically reduces red-eye and improves facial lighting, and the LCD screen can be used to print directly from memory cards. Direct printing is also possible with PictBridge-enabled digital cameras, and wireless printing is possible with infrared phones and PDAs. Bluetooth printing is also an option, but requires an additional Bluetooth adapter. The iP6220D can print a 4" x 6" photo in about 60 seconds. Overall, the printer has 2304 nozzles and uses six different colors of ink.
