Edit

The Canon PIXMA iP4200 is a mid-range color inkjet printer based on the earlier PIXMA iP4000. It is still intended to be a photo printer, and uses a color inkjet 5-color setup (3-colors, 1 black dye, 1 black pigment cartridge). It has a two-path paper setup that allows either dual sided printing or photo and plain paper storage. Photos printed on the iP4200 using Canon ink and Canon photo paper are supposed to last for a very long time, and the iP4200 has an improved print resolution from its predecessor, with 9600 x 2400 dpi and 1-picoliter ink droplets. It also has PictBridge camera-to-printer printing, and has faster print rates. Detailed photo printing takes longer than the iP4000, at about 51 seconds per 4 x 6" photo.
