The Canon Rebel T3 (1100D) is an entry-level digital SLR released alongside the T3i (600D) in early 2011. As a replacement to the low-end Rebel XS (2009), the Rebel T3 DSLR features an upgraded 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom lens, 12.2MP CMOS sensor, and DIGIC 4 Imaging processor. There is also an expanded exposure compensate range and improved auto modes. The most significant update is the incorporation of a 9-point AF system with an F/2.8 cross-type center point with a 63-zone Dual-layer metering system. This means that users with a lens over F/2.8 or faster will be able to more easily track their subjects in the continuous AF tracking mode. Also included is SD/SDHC/SDXC memory expansion and a TFT display that supports live viewing.
