The Canon PowerShot SX30IS is a high-end point-and-shoot camera set to be released in September, 2010. According to the manufacturer, this is the world’s first camera with a 35x zoom lens. Also featured is a 14.1-megapixel CCD sensor, the same type commonly found in competing point-and-shoots. This camera will be able to produce exquisite detail at full magnification, but amateur photographers looking to capture far away subjects will likely find this PowerShot to be of use. Manual and semi-manual shooting modes are built-in, which can be manipulated through the 2.7-inch LCD screen or electronic viewfinder. For video, users can record up to 720p HD quality footage. A rechargeable battery is included in the box.
