The Canon PowerShot SD1000 is a 3x zoom digital point-and-shoot camera, released in late 2007. This camera is the successor to the SD900, a similarly featured Canon camera. The SD1000 features a 7.1 megapixel sensor, a DIGIC III image processor and a 2.5-inch LCD screen for previewing photos. The ISO can go as high as 1600, and redeye is automatically reduced on the fly. A wide range of scene modes are available for stress-free photography, including Portrait, Night Snapshot and an Indoors mode. Movies can also be recorded, with a file size limit up to 4GB. According to the manufacturer, the lithium-ion battery should provide users with approximately 210 shots before a recharge is required. Both SD and SDHC memory cards are fully supported.
