The Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II is a premium lens, one notch below the flagship TS-E 17mm f/4L. The two lenses share the same features, differing in focal length (24mm as opposed to 17mm), angle of view (84 degrees as opposed to 104 degrees), element count (16/11 as opposed to 18/12), maximum close-up magnification (0.34x as opposed to 0.14x) and aperture (f/3.5 as opposed to f/4). This lens also has no floating focusing system, whereas the TS-E 17mm f/4L does. This lens is an updating of the TS-E 24mm f/3.5L lens. Canon promotes their Tilt Shift series as furthering photographic possibilities. Tilt movements allow you to obtain a wide depth of field even at maximum aperture, and shift movements correct the trapezoidal effect sometimes which sometimes distorts pictures of tall subjects. The UD glass construction of this lens minimizes and corrects abberations. The coated aspherical element gives the highest possible glare-free image quality. The circular aperture helps you to capture striking out-of-focus areas. Canon promotes their SWC (SubWavelength structure Coating) as controlling ghosting and flaring to a greater degree than earlier coating technologies. This lens is contructed with only lead-free glass.
