The Canon EF 35mm F/1.4L USM is a high-end wide-angle camera lens. This lens is recommended by Canon for use with Canon SLR cameras. Canon promotes this lens as being for serious photographers. The Aspherical lens element of this lens correct abberations. The rear floating focusing system of the Canon EF 35mm F/1.4 USM makes it so that high picture quality can be obtained over the entire focusing range. The f/1.4 maximum aperture of this lens gives it the ability to create shallow depth of field effects. The eight-blade diaphragm of this lens (which is an improvement over the related EF 35mm f/2's eight-blade diaphragm) helps to create background blur. The Autofocus feature of the Canon EF 35mm F/1.4L USM is quick and quiet, and runs on a ring type USM motor. Manual focus, which professional photographers may prefer, is also an available option.
