Edit

The Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM is a budget-friendly general-purpose lens labeled by critics as an upper-mid-grade unit. It features an image stabilizer for sharp images in dim lighting, a high zoom ratio, and a ring-type USM for quick but quiet autofocus. Critics say the manual focus ring is a tad too small and therefore requires familiarly if one is to quickly find and use it while shooting. Plus there is no focal length lock, so zoom-creep / gravity-zooming can be expected when carrying the lens in a downward position. On a brighter note, however, critics say the Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM is light and easy to carry, solidly built, and well priced.
