The Brother MFC-230C is a mid-range inkjet all-in-one machine, featuring scan, copy, and print functionality, as well as both standalone and PC-fax features.  Print speeds are average, ranging up to 25 pages per minute, and colour print resolution is rated at 6000x1200 dpi.  PC-free photo printing is a feature, using PictBridge-compatible USB devices.  Scanning and copying utilizes a letter-size flatbed, and an optical scan resolution of 600x2400 dpi.  The fax feature uses a 14.4 Kbps modem and keeps a 200-page out-of-paper memory.  PC-faxing can be accomplished using fax software and is transmit-only.  The printing features use a 4-cartridge system, with one black and individual colour cartridges.
