Squirrel Buster Plus Bird Feeder with Removable Cardinal Ring. This posigrip ring system has been specifically designed to attract cardinals. These perennial favorites have two very distinct features: small necks and big feet. They prefer gripping a thick textured perch and facing their food source directly. Cardinals dislike turning their heads to feed.
The Squirrel Buster Plus Cardinal Ring perch system allows them to eat facing the seed while providing a secure and comfortable perch. These cardinal friendly feeding features combined with a bush level location make Squirrel Buster Plus very inviting to cardinals. Thick, adjustable-length perches with textured surfaces provide a secure and comfortable grip for small birds. The seed ports will close automatically when a squirrel climbs onto the feeder. Frequently Asked Questions
How often will I have to refill this feeder on average if I have a fair number of birds in the area and what cost would that entail?
Cost would vary depending upon how much seed you buy at a time and, of course, where you buy it. A 40 pound bag of wild bird seed ranges from $14.00 to $20.00. You can spend much more than this if you buy so-called "gourmet" or "special blend" food but I just buy a mix of sunflower and other seeds. This bag lasts quite some time.
Does it deter chipmunks?
Yes, it does.
Does this feeder come with hardware for hanging from a hook?
The feeder has a simple triangle hook at the top. It slips over a j-hook easily. I have mine hooked on a d-ring like the use for mountain climbing on the end of a rope with a pully so you can get it high off the ground and away from the deer.
