The B&W ASW610 is a medium sized subwoofer designed to be a balance between the smaller ASW608 and the powerful ASW610XP. The driver diaphragm is made out of a mixture of paper pulp, Kevlar fibers and resin. The combination of those materials creates a stiffness that can withstand the physical forces created by the voice coil and pressure inside the cabinet. The B&W ASW610 is a Class D amplifier and is designed to run cool, even when handling a high action movie or loud music. It has a more traditional design, boxy and solid, unlike the innovative B&W PV1 which has a unique and startling rounded shape. It weighs a normal 27.5 pounds and has a height of 12.2 inches not including feet, a width of 12.2 inches, and a depth of 14.8 inches including the controls and the grille.
The B&W ASW610XP differs from the ASW610 in very minor ways. It is the most powerful of the 600 series of subwoofers with a power output of 500W. It weighs more, 34.4 pounds, but has the same dimensions. It comes with the same option of finishes as the ASW610: Black Ash Vinyl, Light Oak Vinyl, Red Cherry Vinyl, and Wenge Vinyl.
